Discover A Community Dance Class!
Towson University‘s need to help the community has created the Towson University Community Dance. An extension of the Towson University Department of Dance where they focus on “Dancing For A Lifetime.”
Keeping with this motif, they offer a wide arrange of affordable dance programs for adults and children. Children classes consist of developmental dance and creative movement (ages 3-5), ballet, jazz, tap, and modern ( ages 6-18). The children’s dance program starts every semester and summer. If you or your child is on the fence about trying this then they can try a free sample class to see if the genre is for them. Registration is required whether you want a sample class or sign up for the semester. Click here for more registration information and to see if you qualify for certain discounts.
For adults, the Community Dance program offers weekly dance practice in ballet, modern, jazz, and Afro fusion. They also have classes in Alexander Technique and improvisation. The Alexander Technique focuses on the daily movement your body makes and discovers ways of reducing stress on the body.
Drop in classes are $14 for a 90 minute class and $11 for a 60 minute class. For Alexander Technique registration is required so make sure that you register online.
